For Those Whose Hearts Have Been Hurt by Stinky Human Interactions and Hazardous Work Environments

Simone Cibrario Nona and Rasa Narkunaite

What is play? We play games of all sorts, and we also play with each other.

We play at work, either when the workplace is good enough to be playful or when it’s a miserable job and we are bored out of our minds.

We play during dates, where, under the vague promise of a quick hook-up or a romantic dream, we play a performative duel incited by a bored swipe to the right.

Sometimes, these two games share the same field: in our case, a sticky dumpling bar in Vesterbro. This interactive comic is based on our experiences working in such a place and how we found ourselves being players of the first game while pawns of the second.

The environment had the unique property of being, depending on the time and day of the week, incredibly boring or overwhelmingly stressful. This gave us the chance to be observant of our generation's dating habits, along with how customers perceive and treat service workers. These deep-fried memories, dipped in the sauce of our own disappointing Tinder horror stories, became the tongue-in-cheek, over-the-top characters of our digital comic.

So sit down at the grease-covered tables, order a bowl of dumplings, and get ready to meet Lulu and Lorenzo. Remember: there are no right answers. Enjoy! </3
